2014 California Educators of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Conference
March 28th-30th, 2014
For Immediate Release
Sacramento, California. March 28-30th, 2014.
California Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will be celebrating its 54th Conference in Sacramento at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton
JOIN US for an AMAZING ACTION FILLED CONFERENCE!
What’s special about this conference? The theme of the conference, “A Call to Action: Quality Education for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Kids!” reflects the role that the 5 SIGS (Special interest groups: Parents, Early Interventionists, Educators, Itinerants, and Administrators) and conference participants will have in fostering quality education for all our DHH students.
During the SIG meetings, participants will create new goals accompanied by ACTION plans for 2014/15. Everyone is welcome to participate! Whether the action plans are about your needs as an Educator, or Parent, or Administrator or overall needs from CAL-ED as an organization, it is up to YOU. Ultimate goal is quality education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Kids!
Take advantage of the early bird registration fees to enjoy a full weekend Friday thru Sunday of activities! CAL-ED offers a variety of FANTASTIC Workshops for all participants, including a special plenary workshop on Sunday about California’s Common Core Curriculum! Activities include a superb keynote speaker at the President’s Welcome Dinner Gathering, an Awards Luncheon on Saturday, recognizing well-deserved individuals in the field, and a FABULOUS closing Speaker!
Parents, bring your kids to the super cool Children’s Program! Join us for “Deaf Night Out” on Saturday evening - entertainment provided by a DJ and local performers, an intro to ballroom dancing by CAL-ED’s Vice President, and more!
We will also have a Creative Art Gallery showcasing art created by DHH students from all over California. There will be a vast array of vendor booths with newest technology available, education materials, arts and crafts, Deaf-related books and videos, and more!
Finally, members will have the opportunity to vote in the Elections for President-elect, and AREA VII REPRESENTATIVE (Imperial, Inyo, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego Counties).
