The CAL-ED board is anticipating filling several vacancies at our up-coming 2013 conference. The election will take place at the CAL-ED Conference in Marina Del Rey, CA on March 8-10, 2013. Your presence is not required but recommended. An email will be sent to notify your acceptance for nomination. If you are interested in filling one of these positions, you must submit a letter in writing by March 1st (deadline has been extended). View each of the positions and their responsibilities below.

My name is Shane A. Molaison and have served on the Board for the last two years as Vice President of Membership. I have also served as a Registration Chair, Election Chair, and Secretary. I am re-running for Vice President. I am currently teaching my 8th year in Deaf Education in the mainstream setting. I am also an Adjunct Instructor at CSU-Sacramento.
My name is Rachel Friedman Narr and I have served as the e-newsletter editor for the past four years. I design and create the e-news that everyone receives in email several times per year. I am running for the position of secretary because I think I can contribute additionally through that position. I have experience as a secretary, as I'm just completing a 2 year term as secretary for another professional organization. I am an Associate Professor at California State University, Northridge in the Deaf Education/ Special Education Program.
Hello :0) I am Lisalee D. Egbert and I am running for the Region I board position again. I am a past co-chair for the 50th annual Cal Ed conference which was held in Sacramento, CA in 2010. I am an assistant professor at California State University, Sacramento in the Deaf Studies Department. My focus is Deaf Education, Educational Interpreting and advocacy. I am also honored to sit on the board for the American Society for Deaf Children.
My name is Lisa Rogers. I am in my 5th year of teaching. I have taught for 3 years as an itinerant teacher and I taught kindergarten-3rd grade for 2 years for the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. I currently work and live in Contra Costa County, working for the Contra Costa County Office of Education. I have served for two years on the Cal-ED board as the Area 3 representative and I would like to continue with Area 2. Thank you.
My name is Nicki Ferry and I live and work in the Fresno area. Upon completion of my MA in Deaf Education five years ago I went to work for Fresno County Office of Education as an Itinerant Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. I am currently the Area IV Cal-Ed representative and I have enjoyed providing members, non-members, students, etc. information on this wonderful organization.
My name is Kelly Sanders and I have served as the Website Administrator for the past two years. I helped design and create the new user friendly CAL-ED website, as well as set up the online forum for CAL-ED members. I believe communication is the key to creating a strong organization. I have taught for the Santa Barbara County Education Office for 15 years. I am currently a Special Day Class teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in grades 1-6.
