Board Member Nominations:

  • Vice-President

My name is Shane A. Molaison and I have worked as an SDC/DHH teacher for San Juan Unified School District for 7 years. I co-chaired the CAL-ED conference back in 2010 along Dr. Lisalee Egbert. I joined the board as Secretary and have been the Vice-President since 2011. I have compiled and managed over 700 CAL-ED memberships (both actives and inactive) since I took over. I distribute all the memberships to our Area Representative who keep in touch with their area members; both active and inactive. Not just handling memberships, I also manage Registration for our annual conferences. I would like to continue to serve as your Vice-President of Membership for the next two years.

  • Treasurer

My name is Wendy Wiewel. Iíve worked for the Burbank Unified School District for the last 15 years as a DHH Preschool/Kindergarten teacher. I joined the CAL-ED Board as Co-Chairperson for the 2007 CAL-ED Conference in 2006. Since the 2007 conference Iíve been the Area VI Representative.  It had been a pleasure serving on the CAL-ED Board over the past 9 years.   Because of my dedication and commitment to the CAL-ED Board and to our profession,  I would like to continue to serve on the CAL-ED Board but this time I am running for the position of Treasurer.  I was also treasurer for our 2007 CAL-ED Conference and I really enjoyed this position. Over the years while on the board, I have had the opportunity to work closely with the current treasurer and I am very familiar with the operations of the CAL-ED.

  • Area IV Representative- (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Fresno, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Tuolumne)

My name is Nicki Ferry and I reside in Fresno with my husband, Kevin, and 15 year old daughter, Baley, who attends Roosevelt Performing Arts High School.   I currently serve on the CAL-ED Board as Area IV Representative.  I have worked for Fresno County Office of Education for eight years;  five years as a DHH Itinerant teacher and now as a DHH Preschool teacher.  It is a joy to be a part of young learnersí lives and see them grow and mature on a daily basis.   I have enjoyed being the Area IV Representative as I have had the opportunity to make contact with other professionals in the field of Deaf Education as well as keep Area IV informed about various events that occur in our area.  I would love to continue to serve as your Area IV Representative.

  • Area VI Representative- (Kern, Los Angeles County, Santa Barbara, and Ventura)

My name is Andy Anderson and I have worked for Orange County Department of Education as a teacher for 18 years. I am assigned to Venado Middle School under Irvine Unified School District where I have taught deaf students. I have been a treasurer with Cal-Ed for 12 years and I have seen many wonderful things happening in various conferences where many teachers were able to bring new ideas into their classrooms.  I would like to experience being an Area Representative and while in this position, I hope to advertise and recruit more members to attend future conferences so to help teach deaf students in many more ways.

I would like to continue to serve as your Website Administrator for the next two years if elected.
