Formed at the California School for the Deaf, Berkeley in 1960 by a small group of concerned teachers, CAL-ED (formerly CATHI) has grown into a large state-wide organization of professionals serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Its purpose is to improve the quality of education for all Deaf and Hard of Hearing children.

Providing scholarships to future professionals in the field of deaf education
Expressing to legislators and other decision-makers concerns related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students

Access to the members only Forum that allows deaf educators to connect with others from throughout the state to share ideas and stay up to date on events and concerns within our profession
Professional Membership - $70.00
(Open to all professional staff including educators and professors)
Associate Membership - $55.00
(Open to retired professionals, parents, interpreters and aides/assistants)
College Student Membership - $50.00
(Open to full-time students only, including interpreters and must be accompanied by a letter from University advisor)
Note: All membership dues are for a period of one (1) year and must be renewed annually in order to maintain a current membership status in CAL-ED.
