Third-generation Deaf, and a proud alumnus of California School for the Deaf Fremont, Melissa is one of the creators of The ASL App, which has been downloaded over 2 million times. She is an Obama Fellow, inaugural class 2018.
BIO: My name is John Aguilar. I am married to my beautiful wife, Indira and we have two amazing Deaf children, Elias age 3.5 and Bella age 10. I spent 10 years in the US Air Force as an F-16 Tactical Aircraft Maintainer, in 2012 I received my Honorable Discharge, and shortly after received my degree in Aerospace Engineering at San Jose State. I am now working for AEVEX Aerospace as a Sr. Mechanical Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA. We are very active in our Deaf community and are big supporters of ASL and LEAD-K.
